About Us

ARIZONA ASSOCIATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

As one of 54 Affiliate Networks of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE; www.naaee.org and www.naaee.org/our-partners/affiliates), the Arizona Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) supports formal, informal, and non-formal educators providing programming and content to a wide variety of citizens of all ages. As an Affiliate Network we host a variety of networking and professional learning opportunities in state, as well as collaborate with other NAAEE Affiliates to host events at the annual NAAEE conference, webinars, and online discussions and blogs. AAEE strives to provide professional development opportunities, such as the EE Certification Program, across the state of Arizona. 

Mission

AAEE strives to enhance the quality, scope, and effectiveness of environmental education in Arizona, working with diverse audiences to promote professional development, networking, and collaborative relationships.

Vision

Through lifelong learning, all people in Arizona understand the interconnection between humanity and the environment and will make informed decisions and take responsible actions to promote a healthy sustainable environment.

  • Ensure - Forward best practices of environmental education.
  • Promote - Encourage recognition of environmental education as a unique field and profession worthy of local, state, national, and global support.
  • Connect - Connect people and resources by providing quality environmental education.

Interested in Joining our Team?

AAEE is looking for proactive people to join our committees or Board of Directors. Do you have a passion for Environmental Education and are you interested in contributing to an organization committed to elevating the profession of Environmental Education in Arizona?

We are a working board, meaning that by committing to join us as a Director you are committing to participating in monthly meetings and helping to create the great content that will move our organization forward. Directors can expect to contribute about 5 hours per month to make the organization the best it can be.

Committee work involves about 2 hours per month, including attending regularly scheduled meetings. For more information on what our committees strive to do, visit our Engage page for more details.
