Teacher Stipends
Teachers – Apply for this stipend and share your story about developing a school garden!
Ten K-12thgrade teachers throughout Arizona will receive a $150 stipend for preparation of a 5-minute slide show to be part of AAEE’s ‘Day In the Sun for EE Schools’ presentation. These PowerPoint slide shows will include photos, bullet points, and script to describe the following:
- A gardening space you were involved in developing on your school campus
- Your goals for your work
- How the garden supports learning objectives
- Your school and district administration’s support of the project
- Your greatest successes and challenges
- Any future plans
- Advice for teachers in any circumstance that would allow them to implement one good component of your work ‘tomorrow’
Requirements:
- Note of interest with a brief description of your work to Maria Yannessa, myannessa@desertmuseum.org, by October 27.
- PowerPoint slide show of approximately 5 minute length, composed of photos, bullet points, any necessary graphics, and accompanying script to Maria Yannessa for final compilation by November 20.
- Participation in webinar presentation of the compilation of presentations scheduled for Saturday, December 3 at 10 am. Participation will require logging into webinar, and responding to any text questions through text response.
