Arizona Game and Fish - Focus Wild Arizona
Submitted by Eric Proctor on September 10, 2010 - 1:00pm
Focus Wild Arizona is the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s award-winning environmental education program. Not only does it promote a sense of awareness and stewardship of the world around us, but also uses the environment as a context for learning science, social studies, math and language arts.
Focus Wild Arizona is free and available to teachers throughout Arizona. Some of the resources available right now from the website:
- Lesson plans - correlated to Arizona academic standards and available for all grade levels
- Professional development - research-based trainings at locations around the state, including your school or facility
- Homeschool opportunities - one-of-a-kind family field experiences with our biologists
- Posters - stunning, full-color images with ideas for related activities
- Electronic media - wildlife videos and podcasts
- Volunteer opportunities - current and retired educators can assist with trainings, lesson development, and more
For all this and more, visit our website or find us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/focuswild. Or, feel free to email Eric Proctor, the wildlife education coordinator, at eproctor@azgfd.gov.
