The Arizona Association for Environmental Education believes in the synergy of teamwork! Through our website and our projects we hope to bring together all those who support environmental education across the state of Arizona. We know school teachers provide unique support for each other, and that they can also benefit from connecting with our vast array of non-formal educators throughout the state. Assistance for both non-formal and formal educators is available through collaborations with business, industry, and government agencies. Our forums, postings, and projects are aimed at promoting these connections!
Formal/Nonformal Partnership Project
We are forming teams of local formal and non-formal educators in all areas of the state, designed to support integration of environmental education across all aspects of the K-12 curriculum. Formal educators are generally defined as those required by their work to hold an Arizona Teacher Certification, typically a classroom teacher. Non-formal educators are those who teach at a professional level, but are not required to hold a state certificate, and are not typically in a long-term classroom setting. This unique combination in a partner relationship fosters the sharing of successful strategies and supports growth in our common goals. Teachers interested in participating can find out more.
