We are excited to invite Arizona youth in grades K-12 to participate in our “Trees Make Me Happy” poster contest! This year’s contest is intended to highlight how trees help get you through a challenging time. The global pandemic that began in 2020 brought challenges and emotions to each of us in different ways. Many people spend time outside to help them feel better when they are stressed. In what ways did trees and nature help you feel better during this time of uncertainty? Share with us some things you do in nature anytime you feel anxious, sad, or scared that bring you joy or comfort. The benefits of trees are endless and we want to highlight how they make you happy through your unique and beautiful artwork! Prizes will be awarded and mailed to the top three winners in four age group categories. ENTRY DEADLINE: March 8, 2021. OPEN TO: Arizona youth, grades K-12. Posters will be judged based on grade level, and prizes will be awarded to the top three posters in each group (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) and to the teachers of First Place winners in each group. POSTER SIZE: Maximum of 12” x 16”; there is no minimum size. Only one (1) poster may be submitted per participant. Full details can be found on this flyer or on the AZ DFFM Website, here: https://dffm.az.gov/forestry-community-forestry/urban-community-forestry/events
