be accepted until July 15, 2026.

Winners will be announced at the Annual AAEE Conference on September 12, 2026 in Flagstaff.

Nominees will receive a discount on their conference registration.

Details will be sent to all nominees with information about the event in late-July.

Awards recognize those making a significant impact and contribution to the environmental education field through innovative and inspiring practices.

Dedicated current and long-term service in the field of EE (programs, curriculum, research, publications, legislation, etc.)
Creating a work environment that incorporates EE (volunteerism by employees, using recycled & environmentally-friendly products, collaboration with and/or funding of EE initiatives)
Outstanding action, contribution, and leadership supporting EE
Outstanding service and volunteerism
Innovative and enthusiastic implementation of EE programs
Shares ideas, best practices, and techniques with others
Employs community engagement models and collaborates with the greater EE community
Outstanding work on programs including practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

WHO CAN MAKE A NOMINATION?

Nominations are welcomed from parents or guardians, coworkers, students, program directors, supervisors, and community members. Self-nominations are also welcome.

HOW DO I NOMINATE SOMEONE?

When available, visit this webpage to complete a nomination form.

AWARD SELECTION PROCESS

Nominations will be reviewed immediately following the submission deadline. Nominators and nominees will be notified 2 weeks prior to the awards ceremony, which usually takes place in September every year. Official winners are announced at the ceremony and are encouraged to attend to receive their award.
