Submit Proposal

We welcome proposals from educators, youth, artists, scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, community organizers, and thought leaders. Whether you're working in classrooms, forests, urban neighborhoods, or policy spaces—your experience matters.

We recommend using our Submission Form Template to draft your proposal and then cut and paste the information into the web submission form linked below. The Submission Form Template also includes other important details about scoring. Here is the link to the Draft Submission Form. Your actual proposal must be submitted through the online form linked at the bottom of this page. Please let us know if you experience any issues accessing it or require assistance.

πŸ“ Session Formats

  • Indoor Workshops (60–90 min): Interactive and hands-on,
  • Hands on Outdoor Field Sessions (60-90 mins)
  • Panel Discussions (45-60 mins)
  • Skill-building Trainings (45 mins)
  • Storytelling or Case Study Presentations (30 mins)
  • Posters printed on 24 x 36 sized paper that highlight programs or research (30 mins)

NOTE: Our planning team received feedback in previous years about presentations not matching the descriptions submitted on the proposal form and presentations being a "commercial" for the programs rather than designed to teach peers how to do something new. Keep this in mind when developing your presentation proposals and your presentations. Answer the questions: Am I sharing my content in a way that teaches an audience of educators who want to learn from me how to do or replicate something? Is this presentation more appropriate for a different audience (such as funders or evaluators/leadership)? The presentation scoring rubric now reflects this metric. And our team will hold open space/office hours in July and August to help selected presenters get their message just right!

Because AAEE is a non-profit organization and relies on conference fees to cover the expenses for the event we are unable to waive registration fees or provide deep discounts for presenters. We know it is a challenge to pay for conference registrations; we are all in the same boat. We want to provide a wonderful experience with as many fees and meals covered as we can, so please take a look at our scholarship information when we make that available during registration - don't let cost be a barrier. We will also provide information about carpooling, camping, and room sharing for this event. Please understand that we are also not making a bank on this event - for the most part, what we will charge for registration will cover the expense we incur for hosting. We appreciate your understanding. Share our Conference Sponsorship Packet to help us raise funds to get everyone there!

Conference registration will open in August
